Healthy students. Healthy minds.

Are you health-ready for the first day of school? Check out the Health Services website for important health requirements/information for school.

  • Immunization requirements and clinics
  • Physical/athletic exams
  • Medication/treatment consent forms
  • Annual health information updates
  • When to keep a child home from school due to illness

Healthy students have good attendance records and are able to learn more in school each day. Review the tips below to make sure that your child has a healthy start to the school year.

  • Immunizations are an important component of your child’s health care and are required to remain compliant with all school health guidelines. Check out the MPS Health Services website for details on immunization requirements.
  • Inform your child’s school nurse or health office staff of any medications your child takes or of any allergies your child has. Our health office staff members can help develop a plan for you and your healthcare provider to ensure that your child is safe and comfortable in school. We need permission from your child’s health care provider each year to administer any medication and medical treatments.
  • Help your child practice good hygiene habits. Show your child how to properly wash his or her hands and how to cover his or her mouth when coughing or sneezing. By preventing illness, your child may come to school ready to participate in classroom learning each day.
