On Monday, June 4, the Colorado Springs Board of Education selected Michael Thomas, Chief of Academics, Leadership and Learning, to be their next Superintendent, pending contract negotiations.
Over the last seven years, Michael has served in many leadership positions in MPS, from Associate Superintendent to Chief of the academic division. During that time, MPS has seen steadily increasing graduation rates, improvements in its high-priority schools, reductions in suspensions and discipline, and better alignment of its academic departments. Superintendent Graff expressed his gratitude for Michael’s leadership and the supportive social and emotional learning focus he brought to this work.
Minneapolis Public Schools congratulates Michael and wishes him well in this next adventure.
